Terms and Conditions of Young Musicians Online Competition
- The Global Young Musicians Competition (GYMC) is an international competition open to young musicians (up to the age of 35) from all over the world.
- Participants must be under 36 years of age on the competition deadline date (20 February 2025) to be eligible.
- The competition is based solely on submitting an online video (no travelling required).
- You can submit any repertoire of your choice.
- The GYMC competition is held in two rounds: Preliminary Round of free participation, and the Final Round (administration fee 86 euro) which will select the laureates of the Prizes.
- The competition will be held according to the following schedule:
• until 20 February 2025: Accepting free applications
• 21-23 February: Preliminary Round
• 24 February: Results of the Preliminary Round and sending emails to all the participants.
• 25-28 February: Applications for the Final Round
• 1-6 March : Final Round
• 7 March: Results of the Competition - The Global Young Musicians Competition accepts entries in the following categories:
• Composer
(all styles)
• Instrumentalist
(all the instruments are accepted)
• Vocalist
(opera, musical, jazz, popular, traditional judged separately)
• Chamber Ensemble
(all types of ensembles)
• Conductor
(choir or orchestra) - The same person can apply for several categories. To do so, please complete the application form separately.
- The age groups are as follows (applies to soloists only):
A • up to 7 years old
B • 8 – 9 years old
C • 10 – 11 years old
D • 12 – 13 years old
E • 14 – 16 years old
F • 17 – 19 years old
G • 20 – 25 years old
H • 26 – 35 years old - Video requirements
A. Participants are required to submit a video recording of their performance (YouTube link) on our page titled “Apply”.
• Composers can present a live, audio or video performance, or a performance by an electronic midi generator. Score welcome, but not obligatory
B. The video should show the musician(s) playing the repertoire they want to present at the Competition.
C. There is no minimum requirement for the duration of the video. The maximum recording should not exceed 25 minutes, with the jury having the right to listen to only 10 minutes if they consider this sufficient.
D. It is allowed to use sheet music during performance.
E. It is allowed to submit a single movement or chosen movements from the cyclic form such as a sonata, suite etc.
F. For the Final Round, the same recording takes part as in the Preliminary Round.
G. The description of the video should include the musician’s name, composer, and title of the piece.
H. You Tube video(s) should have the following settings:
Please do NOT select “Private”. If your video is “Private” we cannot review your entry. YouTube videos should be set to “Public” or “Unlisted”. Similarly, on other sites, such as Vimeo, BiliBili, etc. - Awards:
Detailed information on which bundle goes with which award can be found under AWARDS.
The highest Prizewinners will receive Special Achevement Diploma, interview in the Maestro Magazine, participation in the Winners’ Concert, publication of the winning video on the website, adding a profile to the Winners’ Gallery at Universal Maestro Society.
Certificates for teachers can be order on request. - Jury
A. Jury of concert musicians and professors will judge the participants. To maintain impartiality, the names of jurors are not disclosed.
B. If a participant turns out to be a student of a juror, the juror concerned does not judge him or her.
C. Jury decisions are final and irrevocable. - Final Round
An administrative fee of 86 euro is charged for participation in the Global Young Musicians Competition Final Round.
Those qualified for the Finals will receive an email with instructions for payment. - By entering the Global Young Musicians Competition, I consent to the dissemination of my image and video recordings online, at www.young-musicians.online and on the Competition’s social media and partners’ websites and I will not claim any property rights from it.
- By entering the Competition, an applicant releases and holds Global Young Musicians Competition harmless from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the entrant or any other person, including personal injury or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Award, participation in the Competition, any breach of the Competition Rules, or in any Award-related activity. The applicant agrees to fully indemnify Global Young Musicians Competition from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Competition, without limitation.
